Here's a pic of my band in 1998, my first and favorite year.

Jekyll and Hyde- I'm the short girl above the third drummer on the right. This was when I was 13. |
Alright I know there are a few people who are like 'Dude, what the hell is so great about marching bands? All they
do are parades.' Well really, no. We, or at least I, really dislike doing parades, they're not that much fun. The real fun
is when you're out on a field doing a FIELD SHOW, which is what we do. Its amazingly fun, and you get a total rush. It's having
gone through 10 and a half months of training, running, pushups, laps, drill, music, heat stroke, hours and hours on a tour
bus, seeing how many people can fit in the bathroom on the bus, sleeping on gym floors, getting up at 8am on your summer
holidays, being with your friends and all that other fun stuff, then having all that boil down to 12 minutes
on a field, where you have to take everything you've learned, throw it in the judges faces and say 'Take it now, bitch' cause
you know you're band is the best one out there. You become closer with your friends and instructors in band more than anyone
else around, and its the most amazing feeling to be performing your show, take a quick look around and see all your friends
doing the same thing as you, at the same time, caught up in the same moment. These mere words do the emotion no justice, as
one can only thoroughly understand by knowing the magnificent experience first hand. I urge you, if you play music,
or dance, or want to do either, join a local marching band/drum corps. You really wont be dissapointed. It's cooler than you
think. :P
